The dancing, flying, circus drag clown!
โABRAโ
Performer ยท Producer ยท Instructor
ABRA (Abra Kedavre), nรฉ Gabriel Gonzรกlez is an Irish-Spanish, gender-queer Aerialist, Dancer and Drag Performer, Producer and Instructor, originally from Mรกlaga (Spain), fully established in Ireland โ based in Cork since 2022.
ARTISTIC BACKGROUND
"I am 30 years old and have spent over half my lifetime honing my skills in the fields of Circus, Dance, Audiovisual Productions, Accessibility and Community needs in both Ireland and Spain. My strong focus on mixed disciplines, community-building and โmaking it matterโ (my motto) have allowed me to grow as an artist and produce shows in Ireland while being considered and booked for national events, festivals and spectacles all around the country, as well as internationally โ these experiences have allowed me to create and honour monthly residencies and show brands at local and national venues for different audiences and providing different levels and types of entertainment. My professional services range from creating and performing at dance shows and drag events, to hosting and judging at competitions, to karaoke, from community-specific experiences focused on the celebration of minorities, to fully inclusive events with a semi-commercial and highly commercial approach.
I can proudly express I have trained and worked very hard to achieve the confidence, pace and trust to be able to embrace my creative ambitions as well as the current and rising socio-artistic community needs of the local and national scenes, while remaining connected and bridging the creative generations the have been paving the way before me, and those that will surface and thrive alongside or after me.
Out of my almost 15 years of training, self-development, studies and professional growth, the last three years have been pivotal and crucial to my artistic practice and career, as they highlight a high peak in the curve of my most committed and creative journey in Ireland so far, becoming a full-time Instructor at several dance studios, workshopping and making an impact on the local scene thanks to the people that have sought formal training as dancers to eventually become performers somehow under my wing as well. Becoming a full-time instructor and studio contributor at Elite Pole Cork as well as a reference artist and professional within the Circus Factory community and local drag scene has opened many doors and allowed me to open doors to many."
DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE
"Out of my demonstrable experience, I can highlight some residencies, established shows I am often booked for and different festivals I have been actively contributing to over these last three years and to the present day."
Residencies: Zoo Night (in The Black Dog), Fuego And Flavour (in Wilde), Queer Karaoke (in Dali), SAINTS (in The Kino)
Festivals: Electric Picnic and Beyond The Pale (since 2022 and 2023), Bualadh Bass (2024), Cork Pride Week (since 2022), Joy In The Park (Fitgeraldโs Park, since 2023), In The Making (2025)

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
"From working in clubs to pubs, at travelling slide shows and cultural events, organising fund-raisers, finding a space for my art and impact on the big stage and working with world-renowned, international artists, two of my recent achievements include producing and performing in The Pavilion, The Opera House and The Everyman as a reference drag artist and interdisciplinary performer โ ensuring that, not only the entertainment factor is covered, but also that technicalities my practice entails are also understood and implemented professionally and safely: from providing my own equipment to pointing in the right direction to hire the right one, from rigging to stage management, bridging dance, drag and circus arts while building community all around through the process, from down underground to the stage, the big top and beyond."
MISSION
"Although my level of artistic establishment might still find itself in early career stages, throughout my practice, learning and performing in the studio and at shows, I have grown enough as a producer to start creating experiences focused on diversity and inclusiveness, while helping preserve, celebrate and dignify several art forms. I always put the emphasis on community and diversity, hoping to set a good example for those who attend the shows or spaces where I work and might feel inspired or aspire to get create or get involved, feeling represented, understood, motivated and supported."
