The one and only... AVATAR GUILLE!
My name is Guillermo, I go by Avatar Guille - I am 33 years old, I am a Dancer, Pole Dancer and Choreographer
originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I left my country over 9 years ago to come to Ireland trying to build a better life and find a safer place to live and I havenโt been able to be back since. Since the age of 13-14 I have been dancing, mostly self-tough as I was not allowed to go to dance classes because of not being socially accepted in my country (strong macho culture), I self-taught most of my dancing skills alone in my room, until I turned 18 and I could have more freedom, I started going to dance classes and at the age of 20 I found pole dancing.
At 22 I left my country and came to Ireland, I have lived as an Asylum seeker for over 3 years, living
in Direct Provision in Emo, Portlaoise from 2016 โ 2019 and even living there I always managed to keep dancing in any space I had available to donโt drift far from what helped me to be as healthy as possible mentally and physically, until I got granted Refugee Status, and then I moved to Dublin.
Since then, I have been trying to get back to the things I love doing which is anything related to dancing. At the end of 2019 I got a job at The Irish Pole Dance Academy as a Pole & Flexibility instructor where I worked for almost 3 years. I could slowly get back to myself and have the proper space to keep dancing, training and evolving. In June 2022, I got offered to perform for the first time at a little show in Athlone called โOnly After Darkโ and simultaneously I got invited to perform at The George in Dublin for the first time ever, one week apart from each other.
Since that moment, which I am always very grateful for, I have been asked, booked, hired and invited to perform in different events around Ireland for the past 2 and a half years. I have performed in different cities and towns, from Cork, Waterford, Athlone, Thurles, Galway, Limerick, Westport. I have performed at the Main Stage for the Mother Block Part in 2023, 2024 and 2025, in Dublin, and I will be back again this Pride 2026. I danced at Electric Picnic with Mother in 2022 and got invited back in 2023, 2024 and 2025 to do 2 Pole numbers the three nights and Iโm going to be back for this year too. I have performed at The Button Factory, The Sugar Club and The Grand Social. I have worked with Jenny Keane at the Vicar Street, and in 2024 I performed in 5 different events at the Sugar Club for her several times, with more to come, as she keeps me as one of her regular performers and collaborators. I also competed at Hell On Heels 2022 in the professional category, being awarded the second place.
As some highlights from 2025, I got to perform for the first time at one of the most special places I have ever seen: โThe Gate Theatreโ in Dublin and at โThe Everymanโ in Cork. I performed at Electric Picnic, and with Mother at the National Museum with the Mother Block Part for Dublin Pride, The Sugar Club with Jenny Keane several times this year. And with Fuego & Flavour, a show myself and my partner Abra (Gabriel Gonzรกlez) have created together in Cork, as an entertainment experience and space where people can feel always welcome and free, no matter where they come from, look like, identify as. And more to come in 2026.
I have been dancing for over 10 years on my own, pole dancing for 5-6 years, and I have been
performing for almost 4 years and I feel this is only the beginning and I cannot wait to see what else is there to see, to learn, to improve, and keep on growing.
